Setting a benchmark in the recruitment industry

The contingent workforce (temps and contractors) is growing exponentially worldwide, and Australia is rapidly following suit. Our client had seen great potential to take advantage of this trend, by giving workers and companies a new way to connect.

The idea for this start-up was to develop a simple, streamlined, integrated online platform that would act as a place for companies and potential candidates to come together. It was an exciting concept that could set a new benchmark for the recruitment industry. The chellenge for us was, what would it look like?

Our first task was to come up with a name and identity for this new platform. Three weeks of brainstorming and idea generation led us to the name Nvoi (pronounced en-voy). This was a subtle reference to the fact the platform acts as a ‘middleman’ between employees and employers.

Branding

Once we had the name, we moved on to creating a visual identity that felt sleek, refined and contemporary. We developed an identity system in which a bold uppercase N is formed from a combination of simple geometric shapes. The stems from the letter represent the worker and company, while the diagonal stroke that connect them represents Nvoi.

Offsetting this logo was a colour palette of grey, white and bright red, coupled with simple, clean typography. Applied to various elements of stationery, it allows the brand to be distinctive but not overpowering.

Website

The Nvoi platform was a large part of the job, and involved in-depth exploration of user journey variations. Our finished design uses a unique navigation bar and is optimised for all devices, enabling a seamless user experience regardless of screen size.

What we’ve done is taken the old temporary recruitment model and brought it into a new, digital age.

Mobile

The Nvoi site was designed to be responsive. Swipe gestures were implemented where relevant and a custom mobile navigation was created to optimise the user experience on mobile devices.

Platform

As well as company stationary, including folder, letterhead and business cards, initial creative designs were created to set the tone and creative direction for the entire Nvoi platform.

The branding, showcase website and overall art direction was handled by Future Büro, with technical implementation of the platform undertaken by the internal team at Nvoi. Ahead of launch, Nvoi reported over 10,000 pre-registered users.
