Road to Happiness

A transmedia travel show concept

The Road to Happiness was conceived as an innovative travel show for broadcast both on television and online. Its unique format immersed viewers in some of the world’s most spectacular regions, to ultimately inspire them book their own adventure.

Each episode combined a classic car with a journey of discovery through a historical route and its surrounds, from the Silk Road to North America’s Pacific Coast. Online, viewers could further explore the locations via interactive maps and features accessed via the video interface, allowing them to create their own ‘Road to Happiness’ itinerary.

The vision

The vision for the digital platform was to provide viewers with the ability to book flights and accommodation with travel partners, either customised to their own desire or aligned with the whole iconic journey as seen on TV.
